Homework.
While anyone who goes to school understands how expensive an education can be, it might surprise some people to discover that homework has an economic cost. It can be a government-funded high school, or it can be a university, but some projects take either some money or a lot of creativity. Another economic cost of homework it attempting to do work and having a job at the same time. Some people find it hard balancing all their needs. This is where it pays to learn budgeting at a young age.
Homework should not have to cost more than the time it takes to put pencil to paper, but many students seek a competitive edge by impressing their teachers and classmates. This often means buying expensive equipment and materials to construct projects out of. This might mean components for a model radio or even a simple computer. There are many projects that require expensive parts.
It pays to look closely at the instructions, and keep in mind that simplicity saves a lot of time and cash. If a simpler project will do, then why not chose something for homework that is both elegant and appropriate for the task? Even something more difficult can benefit from a bit of ingenuity. Using used parts or materials can save a lot of money.
When it comes to balancing school needs with work needs, this is also where simplicity has its benefits. Begin homework early so that it does not stress or complete for your time later. Focus on the most important points rather than every bit of trivia. It is better to get the most important questions correct than strive for an A and forget some more basic points. Choose straightforward answers to projects in order to save time. That stiff job helps to pay for school, after all.
A final note on homework and budget is that it is not a good idea to pay someone else to do research or to actually write the paper. The risk is that the professor can tell the difference between your own writing and someone else's. Also, someone else's thoughts might collide with your own. If you don't entirely understand someone else's opinion, then how can you use it? |
